I know why missionaries get fat.

April 27th 2015:

I know why missionaries get fat on their missions. Proverbs 28:25 explains it all. Anyways, this week has been interesting just like any other week in the mission field. Last Monday we had a tornado warning I had no idea there were even tornadoes in Florida. Haha don't you fret I am still kicking. We met the cutest Haitian boy in the projects this week, his name is Eric. He walked up to us with this huge smile and said "hello Christ sisters!" He is the cutest. I fell off my bike again, no I did not hit another mail box. Sister Sackley stopped and I didn't have enough time to stop, and well I am sure you can picture the rest. It was pretty much a human Catapult. I flew over the handle bars and didn't stick the landing. All is well. :)
I have officially made it past my first transfer, and unfortunately sister Sackley and I are being separated. She is getting transferred, and I am getting a new companion. Let me just tell you, that she is going far in life. Everyone better watch out for Sister Sackley! She is amazing and I am going to miss her.
The church is true. I love and miss you all. I hope everyone has a fabulous week!

I am a mormon hear me roar!

April 20th

This week was just another great week of missionary work! I have come to the conclusion that there is something in the air here, people in Tampa are really interesting.

TRACKING WORKS! It was a hot and miserable day, we walked up to the last house and knocked on the door. We asked the man at the door (Danny) if he would like to watch Because He Lives, he really liked the clip. He started to talk about how prayer has given him strength, and he told us how he read the Book of Mormon 30 years ago and he wanted to believe that it was true. We asked him if he had prayed and asked God if it was true, and of course he hadn't. His countenance changed and he asked if he could have a Book of Mormon so he could ask God if it was true. Danny came to church! We called him on Saturday to invite him to church, he never answered his phone. We were not expecting him to come, but he did! He loved sacrament meeting! The spirit was so strong in that meeting!

The Lord truly does prepare people to hear out message. I am super excited to see what happens with Danny, we are meeting with him this week. We want to invite him to be baptized when we see him! Keep him in your prayers!

Do you see the mail box? Yeah I didn't

WE GOT AN INVESTIGATOR!

Me

I biked into a mail box...

April 13th

We are back to knocking doors! The mission president asked my zone to start knocking doors to see if we could find more people to teach. Ill just say that knocking doors is pretty interesting, Haha there are some really weird people! I LOVE FLORIDA!

I don't have a lot of time this week, but I just wanted to share a story about how I biked into a mail box. I was in my own little world enjoying beautiful Florida, next thing I knew I hit a mail box and shot in the air. Haha maybe it wasn't that dramatic, but I still hit the mail box and I fell off my bike. I am sure the cars passing us got a good laugh out of it! I sure did!

I finally taught my first lesson! we haven't really had any success in this area. But we met this lady on the side of the street and asked if we could come teach her about Christ. She told us to come back the next day. We came back and taught her the restoration. She wasn't too sure about the priesthood, but we did all we could. We invited her and her job is to accept the message and pray about it. We called her the next day, and unfortunately she was not interested. That is okay though, because we planted a little seed!

The computer I am on does not let me send pictures, I will try and send some next week. :)

I've never been good at spelling :/

April 6th

What a week of disappointments and doors slammed in our faces. Just another day in the mission field, Haha! General conference was AMAZING! I hope you all enjoyed it as much as I did. Not much success this week, but we are working hard to find the people the Lord has prepared!

Sister Sackley and I were heading to a members house to visit there neighbors when I noticed a bolt on my tire had fallen off. The member canceled the appointment, so we turned around searching for the bolt. We didn't find it so we walked 2 miles to a bike store so they could fix it. Turns out it was the bike store my bike was from, they fixed it for free! We headed to the church for the second session of conference, There was only one brother there, so we couldn't stay and watch. We turned around disappointed we couldn't stay. Everything had gone wrong that day, we hadn't eaten anything, our appointment was cancelled, we were missing conference. Then someone in the ward came to the church, in hopes the missionaries were there, so she could drop off some left overs. Sister Sackley and I were so happy! We hurry and ate, biked really hard to the Mcaras to catch the last half of the session. It was a huge miracle to us! The Lord really is aware of us, and what our needs are!

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter from the coolest Sisters ever!

March 30th

Did you know that sweat is your fat crying? ;) Well lets just say my fat is crying like Niagara falls. IT IS SO HOT HERE. I bike so much my calves are going to be bigger than my Dads. So on Wednesday we had been turned down so much, no one wanted to talk to us! But we were excited because we had an appointment with a less active member. He lives like 8 miles away. We got on our bikes and beat cheeks to his house because we didn't want to be late, we knock on his door and he told us he was too busy to talk with us. We were a little mad because it was really hot and we biked forever to get there, we walked away kind of irritated. we were trying to figure out what to do next when this little girl walked by, Sister Sackley asked if she had been baptized, and she said she hadn't and that she wanted to. So we jumped on that opportunity like any other missionary would. We showed her Because of Him, and asked if her parents would be interested in watching. She took us to her parents house and we showed her step mom the video. THE SPIRIT WAS SO STRONG! You could tell she had been through a lot, you could tell she was fighting away tears. After the video I bore my testimony that she would receive peace if she followed Jesus Christ. She was really interested and wanted us to come back and show her the other video. We waited a couple of days and made the long bike ride back to her house, and we saw Olivia (the little girl) outside. She came and talked to us and she seemed pretty excited to see us, we showed her the video and asked if her step Mom was home. Sister Sackley and I hurried and prayed as a companionship before we went to the apartment. During the prayer Olivia ran home, we didn't think much about it. Sister Sackley and I walked to the door and knocked, and of course there was no answer. We could hear them inside, we knocked two more times and no one answered. People these days, little do they know their salvation is at the doorstep!
If you find some free time and don't know what to do with your time, write me a letter (not email, so that I can respond) and tell me how you came to know that the Book of Mormon is true. I would love to hear from all of you!
